Celebrities makes profits not wages.

Have you ever wonder how celebrities get paid?

All celebrities, from Actors, Singers, Musicians, Athletes, Composers, Producers, Authors, etc. are all paid by profits not hourly rate (wages). These people do not work because they have to, but because they want to and they love what they do. Most of these celebrities earns royalties from the work they've done. They are getting paid even though they're on a vacation or asleep.

Sports athletes such as basketball players and football players get paid every time they play a game and sometimes through endorsement.

Lebron James endorsing Nike.

The same thing for musicians, they get paid every time they have a gig, get their albums sold, have their songs played on movies or radios, and also endorsement.

"The Beatles were a famous band in the 70s 80s 90s and even today. They don't make music anymore but they still hold copyrights to their songs and are still  making royalties."

Momentis Inc., Is it for real?

More and more entrepreneurs all over the five boroughs are talking about a great new opportunity that opened up in NY. This opportunity is the energy deregulation. What is energy deregulation? This is about breaking up the monopoly of energy companies like ConEd and National Grid (Keyspan). This means that the government restricted ConEd and National Grid from controlling which energy suppliers we should get for our homes. With this new law, energy users (electricity and/or gas) can choose which supplier they want to use and get their energy from.

Momentis Headquarters in Dallas Texas
This deregulation created an opportunity for companies like Ambit Energy and Momentis. In this blog i will be talking about Momentis. Momentis is a marketing arm for energy supplier named Just Energy. As a publicly traded company JE, they provide Green Energy to homes at an affordable and flexible rates and made 3.0 billion dollars in revenue. Last year Just Energy spent 300 million dollars to be payed to all Momentis marketing representatives.

Marketing Representatives of  Momentis are enjoying the  benefits they get for doing simple things. Get a few closely related energy customers to switch their energy supplier to Just Energy and create a distribution network for a leverage income that will pay them for the rest of their lives. This is called residual income, and its an income that you get whether you do work or not. You  might be having a vacation in Bahamas but your checks are going to be sent to you whether you like it or not. Isn't nice to come back home from vacation and seeing checks in your mailbox rather than bills to pay?

Sole proprietorship.

Today I would like to discuss about becoming a sole proprietor. Proprietorship is a type of business which is operated by one individual. All profits and losses are in the responsibility of the owner or the proprietor. A simple example of this type of business is landscaping. The owner and most of the time the worker, is responsible for getting clients and setting up his/her prices for his/her services. If the owner didn't have any clients, he/she will not get any profits. The owner may or may not hire workers, but the bottom line is that he/she is responsible for their income.

In starting your own business, there are some basic requirements. First one is the product or services that you are going to offer. Second is how and where are you going to get this. Third is your business plan, how are you going to market your services or products. The most important part of any business is your networking skills. Networking skills includes having good relationship with customers, promoting your business where ever you go and many more.

"Wages make you a living, which is fine, Profits make you a fortune, which is super fine."- Jim Rohn

"Wages make you a living, which is fine, Profits make you a fortune, which is super fine."- Jim Rohn

Since we were young, our parents have told us to go to school, get good grades, go to college, get a degree, get a good job and at age 65 we will retire and enjoy life. We have been conditioned to follow this idea for centuries, but the fact is, not everyone gets to enjoy life after 65yrs old. During payday at your job, you already know where the money will go after all the taxes. Most of us will pay our bills, rents, credit cards, food, drinks, etc. and after paying all these, all you have left are another bills to pay and you wait for your next paycheck again. In this chart by Robert Kiyosaki it shows you how money is earned in four basic ways.

This idea of living paycheck to paycheck doesn't really amuse me. I don't wanna live my life working by the clock, take the same route everyday, meet the same people everyday, and gets the same paycheck everyday. What happens if i get sick? if your lucky, you might get paid, but most workers won't get paid. No matter what your JOB is, if you don't show up to work, you wont get paid (most of the time).

When I heard this quote by Jim Rohn "Wages make you a living, which is fine, Profits make you a fortune, which is super fine." it hit me. I begun to notice that you don't really need to work for somebody or a corporation to earn an income. Most of the businessman and/or entrepreneurs that I know and met personally didn't really used what they learned in college and some of them never even made it to college. No matter what degree they have, all they have in common is the idea that profits are better than wages. Making profits from goods and services is very lucrative, If you think about it. If you sell a million dollar house in one day and make a $100,000 profit from it, it will pretty much cover all your basic expenses throughout your whole year plus trips and vacations. At work, to make more money, you have to work more hours, so you are basically trading time for money. To make profits, you have to trade your time, money and effort to earn income and time freedom. How about passive income? Did you learn about passive income in school so far? Passive income is money you make whether your awake or not dead or alive, just like Elvis Presley. Until now, even  though Elvis is now dead, he still earning royalties from the work he has done during his music career.

The idea of doing work once and getting paid for the rest of your life has amused me. There are a lot of ways to earn passive income, especially here in America. Few examples are, owning rental properties. owning a business, owning a franchise, network marketing, owning a patent, mutual funds , CD's, Internet Incomes and many more. Out of all of these options, not single one of them required having a college degree. All you needed to accomplish all of these is burning desire and willingness (what your willing to give up) to do it. I learned this from people who actually made it happen and not from people who just says it and never actually done it. I'd like to end this post with one question, "Which would you prefer, Profit or Wages?"
